Udupi: Woman files complaint against husband over dowry harassment

Udupi: A woman in Udupi has filed a dowry harassment case against her husband in the women’s police station.

The complainant has been identified as Raksha Upadhyaya. It is said that she got married to Govindraj in 2021 and was living in Moodusagri. Rs 3 lakh and 30 sovereign gold were given as dowry to him.

However, after a few days, Govindraj demanded more money from Raksha and when she refused he began physically torturing her. It is said that he also threatened to kill her.

Rs 1.90 lakh was transferred to his account by her family members but he continued to torture her. Following this, Raksha filed a police complaint against him.
