Watch: Air Force officer sings Indian National Anthem on Mt Everest peak

Wing Commander Vikrant Uniyal of India scaled Mount Everest to commemorate the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’  (75th year of Independence). The IAF officer sang India’s national anthem after reaching the summit. PRO Defence Prayagraj shared Uniyal’s video on Twitter.

Uniyal is seen holding the Indian national flag and the Air Force flag in a short video alongside other mountaineers. “We are holding the Indian national flag and the Air Force flag on Mount Everest on the occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,” he adds in the video.

Uniyal’s initiative was praised by numerous individuals, and the video tweeted by PRO Defence Prayagraj had over 41,000 views.
