M’luru: Several injured after truck driver, under influence of alcohol collides into vehicles near Surathkal junction

Mangaluru: A serial collision between a truck, bike, police patrol vehicle and an auto-rickshaw left several people injured near Surathkal junction on Wednesday, June 1 night.
The incident occurred due to the recklessness of a truck driver who was said to be under the influence of alcohol.
The truck initially rammed into a bike and went on to hit a police patrol vehicle. The driver instead of stopping the vehicle accelerated and collided into an auto-rickshaw, causing it to topple near Surathkal railway bridge on the way to Kana. Three occupants in the auto-rickshaw sustained injuries in the mishap.
Police managed to nab the driver identified as Kailash Patil (42) with the help of the locals. The cleaner of the truck is absconding.
According to the police, Kailash has a case registered against him in connection with another road accident at Baikampady
