Bengaluru: The spat between Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation (KSHDCL) Chairman Beloor Raghavendra Shetty and its Managing Director D Roopa Moudgil, got ugly with the latter making serious allegations of the threat of an acid attack by Shetty.
A screenshot of the alleged Whatsapp message by Roopa went viral on social media, in which the IPS officer claims that Shetty had threatened to pour acid on her. Media reports said that Roopa confirmed that the message was sent by her. Further, she clarified that she had not disclosed Shetty’s threats to avoid inconvenience to the government.
The feud between the KSHDCL Chairman and MD became public on May 27, after the video of a quarrel during the Annual General Body meeting between the two went viral. In the video, Shetty can be heard saying ‘Roopa IPS alone’ will be responsible if he commits suicide tomorrow.
Following this, reports said that Roopa had sent a formal request to the Chief Secretary to file a case against Shetty for threatening to commit suicide.
