Bengaluru: Police officials have arrested a man for killing his mother because she refused to buy him a mobile phone in Bengaluru.
The accused has been identified as Deepak, a resident of Lucas Layout, Mailasandra village near Beguru.
It is said that Deepak killed his mother Fathima Mary by strangling her with a saree in an open field on June 1.
However, he tried to act innocent in front of the police officials and claimed that he ‘found’ his mother dead in the field while he went searching for her.
As per the complaint filed by her daughter Joyce Mary, Fathima had gone to the farm to collect greens. Later, Joyce asked her brother to get their mother back from the farm.
Deepak who went to the farm called his father Arogyaswamy and told him that he found his mother lying dead in a field near NICE Road compound.
Police suspected Deepak and during the interrogation, he confessed to killing his mother over her refusal to buy him a new phone.
