Puttur: Thief steals gold ornaments from house on pretext of putting off fire

Puttur: Police officials have arrested a man who stole gold ornaments from a house that was on fire in Malengal, Kaniyoor village in Beltangady.
The arrested accused has been identified as Shivaprasad (38), an employee of a local bar and restaurant.
It is said that the house of Anand Moolya caught fire on May 16, Shivaprasad entered the house on the pretext of putting off the fire and stole the gold ornaments worth Rs 2.50 lakh.
Following this, the accused was arrested and produced in court.
