Mangaluru: The civil court here on Thursday posted the Malali Masjid case for the next hearing on June 1o.

The third Additional Civil Judge and JMFC court was hearing the plea filed by Vishwa Hindu Parishat demanding preservation and protection of the temple-like structure.

Mentioning the matter before the court, Lawyer Chidananda Kedilaya, representing the VHP, said that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad is demanding a survey after a temple-like structure was discovered inside the mosque in Gurupara Hobli.

He further said that the WAQF board is not eligible to decide whether the temple-like structure is a mosque or a temple. The court must order a survey to preserve the historical monument.
