Rising Covid cases: Karnataka govt issues revised guidelines

Bengaluru: The rising Covid-19 cases in the state have prompted the Karnataka government to issue new guidelines.

The latest directive from the government has made wearing masks compulsory in public areas and closed spaces, including shopping malls, movie theatres, restaurants, buses, office spaces, educational institutes, etc. The public has been asked to wear masks even in private vehicles to stop the spread of the disease.

The government has also requested persons, who are eligible, to take precautionary vaccine doses.

 

On June 10, Karnataka reported 525 new Covid cases, with a positivity rate of 2.31 percent. Of these, 494 cases were detected in Bengaluru. The active cases in the state were at 3,177.
