Moral policing: Hindu outfit questions man and woman of different faiths

Puttur: In yet another incident of ‘moral policing’, a group of persons belonging to Hindu outfits allegedly tried to stop a Muslim youth and a Hindu woman from traveling to Bengaluru. the incident occurred at a railway station in Puttur at 10 pm on June 10.
Reportedly, the Hindu woman from Bengaluru had come to Puttur to attend her male Muslim friend’s cousin’s wedding.
While she was on her way back to Bengaluru Hindu outfit activists tried to stop her. On receiving information about the incident, Puttur police came to the spot and dispersed the crowd.
When questioned by the police the woman clarified that she had voluntarily come to attend her friend’s cousin’s wedding.
The police then let the woman go back home.
