Bengaluru: As many as 31 students from two schools in the Dasarahalli zone of BBMP have tested positive for COVID19. They have been asked to remain at home.
On Monday, 10 students of class 5 at a private School in Peenya 2nd stage were confirmed Covid positive. Last Thursday 21 students at another school in Rajgopalnagar also returned positive for the viral disease.
Dasarahalli zone health officer Suresh Rudrappa said that everyone at the school was tested for COVID infection. Only those who tested positive have been given holidays and have been asked to quarantine themselves. The school areas, including classrooms, have been sanitized and every effort is being made to contain the spread, he added.
Meanwhile, the number of containment zones in Bengaluru has risen to 21 despite a drop in the number of Covid cases. On Monday alone 5 more containment zones were added – Four in Mahadevapura and another in Dasarahalli, BBMP said.
The number of new Covid19 cases dropped to 400 in the city, down from Sunday’s 429. Around 354 were declared recovered and no death was reported on Monday. There are 3542 active cases in the city, of which 29 have been hospitalized.
