Bengaluru: Right after the rousing success of KGF: Chapter 2 at the box office, Rakshit Shetty-starrer Kannada movie ‘777 Charlie’ is making waves.
Released on June 10, the movie has received rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. The emotional bond between a canine and his human companion bond depicted in the movie seems to have struck the right chords with the moviegoers.
Besides Rakshit Shetty and the canine star, 777 Charlie also features Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, and Bobby Simha. The film has been produced under the Paramvah Studios banner, with cinematography by Aravind Kashyap and music by Nobin Paul.
The popularity of the movie can be gauged by the box office numbers too. In the three days, the movie has raked in a whopping Rs 23.5 crores at the end of the first weekend shows. On Friday the collections stood at Rs 6.2 crores, on Day 2 it earned Rs 7.8 crores, and on Day 3 added another Rs 9.5 crores into its kitty.
According to media reports, director Kiranraj is extremely happy with the film’s performance. The team’s hardwork of 5 years has finally paid dividends, he said.
He said that Voot has purchased the digital rights of the Kannada version of the movie, while many more have lined up for acquiring the rights of other versions.
