Documentary film by SDM Ujire students wins first prize at national-level filmmaking festival

Belthangady: A documentary produced by the students of the Journalism and Mass Communication department of SDM College Ujire bagged the first prize in the National-level Documentary and Short Film Festival.
The documentary was submitted to the national-level filmmaking contest ‘Shooting Stars 2022’ organized by the Department of Journalism of St Aloysius College, Mangaluru.
The award-winning documentary chronicles the daily life and reality of the handloom saree weavers of Kasaragod.
The documentary was directed by Ram Mohan Bhat. Sampath Kumar Rai worked as the cinematographer while Rakshit Rai edited the documentary. Shruti Jain was the narrator. Sriraksha Shankar and Shama Prasad were part of the team.
