Former minister M Raghupathy passes away

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka minister M Raghupathy passed away at his residence in Malleshwaram on Saturday morning.

The senior Janata Parivar leader had become a state legislator winning the Malleshwaram and Shivaji Nagar Legislative Assembly constituencies. He had served as the Education Minister in the cabinet of former Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde.

Rahupathy, who made his name at the national level politics, was close to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao. He had stayed away from active politics the past few years.

The mortal remains of M Raghupathy have been kept at his residence in Malleshwaram for people to pay their last respects. The funeral will be held on June 19 early morning, sources close to the family said.
