IYD 2022: Class 5,7 students from coastal district to perform with PM Modi

A Class 5 and 7 students from Udupi and Karkala have been selected to participate in the Yoga Day event at Mysuru Palace premises in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The selected participants — Shivani, daughter of Shivananda Shetty and Sujata Shetty, studies in Class 5 at Udupi Vidyodaya School and Anvi, daughter of Harisha and Shobha is a class 7 student of Ravishankar Vidya Mandir.

Both of them had taken part in the yoga day rehearsals held here ahead of the event. However, as Shivani has not been vaccinated for Covid 19 due to her age there were apprehensions about her selection for the Yoga-Day event.

On Friday, official confirmation was received that she can participate in the event after providing a Covid negative report not older than 72 hours.
