Mangaluru: Fake medical certificate racket; Accused found dead

Mangaluru: A pharmacist at the railway health center who was arrested in connection with the fake medical certificate scam was found dead on the railway tracks near Thokottu on Monday, June 20.
It is said that the accused identified as Vijayan V A, might have committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train.
Recently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested three people including the Additional Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr. Shiva Shankar Murthy, pharmacist Vijayan V A, and broker Ibrahim near Mangaluru Central station over a fake medical certificate scam.
Around 1,500 fake medical certificates have been issued to individuals from Southern Railway, South Western Railway, and the Konkan Railway in a span of one year.
