Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) spent Rs 23 crore on redeveloping and repairing about 14 km of the road before Prime Minister Modi visited Bengaluru.
This is apart from road works that Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) took up near Kommaghatta, where the Prime Minister held a public rally and laid the foundation stone for several infrastructure works.
Special Commissioner (Projects) of the BBMP PN Ravindra said that the civic body began work on the roads that the Prime Minister would travel on about 15 days before his visit. The work were carried out day and night.
The road works involved re-asphalting of roads, re-doing service roads, replacing faulty street lights, and medians, painting, and other related works
The roads that were developed include Ballari Road, Tumakuru Road, Mysuru Road, Bengaluru University road, Komaghatta road, and others, through which the PM traveled.
