Mangaluru: Ruptured water pipeline floods Pumpwell underpass
Team Udayavani, Jun 28, 2022, 5:45 PM IST
Mangaluru: The underground water pipeline supplying water from Thumbe to the city ruptured near the Pumpwell flyover on June 28.
The water from the damaged pipeline gushed onto the road, hindering traffic movement on the National Highway for some time. The tar on the road developed crakes and big chunks of them were chipped off from the top surface.
Motorists, especially two-wheelers, found it extremely difficult to navigate the busy section as the muddy water flooded the underpass.
There are also apprehensions that the water supply might be cut off to rectify the issue.
