Mangaluru: The city south block congress workers held a protest against the Agnipath scheme near the Mini Vidhana Soudha, Mangaluru on Saturday, July 2.
Opposing the scheme introduced by the Central government, Former MLC Ivan D’Souza said that BJP had promised 2 crore jobs to the youths but has failed in fulfilling it.
“The age limit for the scheme is 17.5 to 21 years which means the candidates will have to quit their studies to get into 4 years of training. We demand the withdrawal of the Agnipath scheme and allow the aspiring candidates to serve the nation,” he added.
Several Congress leaders including Former MLA J R Lobo also participated in the protest.
