Malpe: Anchored boat washed away at sea

A fishing boat, anchored at Malpe harbour here was washed away due to the strong winds and rough sea conditions. Debris of the boat and fishing net was later found washed ashore at Kaipunjalu beach.
The mishap resulted in an estimated loss of Rs 15 lakh to the boat owners — Rakesh and Yashwant, both residents of Malpe.
Items stored on the boat such as fishing net, other equipment, and boat engine have been damaged.
