Mangaluru: Three people were injured after a compound wall of a house collapsed in Onikere on Tuesday, July 5.

The injured are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kankanady.

Mayor Premanandh Shetty visited the spot and spoke to the residents.

Meanwhile, the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr K.V. Rajendra has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in the district on Tuesday, July 5.

Anganwadis, primary and High schools, PUC, Diploma/ITI and colleges will remain closed on July 5 as a precaution, said an announcement from the DC’s office.

Rains continued to lash the parts of the district on the night of July 4.

Officials in Dakshina Kannada have been asked to stay alert as incessant rainfall and warnings of more wet days ahead have triggered fears of floods.
