Vitla: A medical doctor, hired on a contract basis at Wenlock Hospital, has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl.
The accused, identified as Dr. Anush Naik of Mani, has been booked under the provisions of the POCSO Act based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother at the Vitla police station.
The girl’s mother, in her complaint dated July 10, alleged that the doctor took the girl to his residence on March 6 and sexually abused her there. He also threatened to kill the victim and her parents, if she revealed the assault to anyone.
Vitla police investigating the matter arrested the accused on July 11 from Mani. Further investigations are underway.
