Management of a school have come under fire for taking UKG students of Young Scholar School on a trip to dargah and mosque on the eve of Bakrid in Gundlupet city of the district.
The Hindu Jagarana Vedike lodged a complaint about this with the education department.
As per a IANS report, locals alleged that on July 8 the students were taken on a trip to dargah and the mosque of Terakannambi town and were made to offer prayers. During the trip, they also attended the preaching of a religious leader at the dargah.
Following the furor over the issue, the school management tendered an apology and assured of taking action against the teachers concerned. However several people are trying to give a communal color to the incident.
According to the education department officials, parents had been informed about the trip beforehand by the teachers. The school management had apologised for the incident and have been instructed not to take children without informing the department.
Apparently, the school in question is owned by a BJP leader and the trip was a part of introducing new places to children.
