Heavy rains: Rs 51 cr worth properties damaged in Sagar taluk, reads official report

Sagar: District In-charge Minister Dr. Narayan Gowda has said that he would inform Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai about the rain-affected areas of the taluk for relief amount to be released
Assessing the situation of the rain-affected areas of taluk on Thursday, the minister said, “Around Rs 51 cr of damages have been reported from the rain-affected areas of the taluk. I’m briefed by the officers of the concerned department about the huge damages. I’ll inform CM Bommai about this and will try and get the maximum relief amount sanctioned.
“For the people whose houses have been completely damaged, Rs 5 lakhs and for partial damages Rs 3 lakhs will be sanctioned”, he added.
Meanwhile, 48 homes, 11 huts, and six schools were damaged. Around 39 roads were damaged. Three animals had died. The damages incurred cost Rs 51 cr, read the damage report submitted by the officials to the minister.
Later he directed the officials to distribute food kits for the people who have lost their homes.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Selvamani, Zilla Panchayat CEO Vaishali, and other officials were present.
