Mangaluru: Couple held for peddling ganja; Items worth Rs 92,000 seized

Mangaluru: The City crime branch officials on Saturday arrested a couple for drug peddling and recovered 2.200 kg ganja and money from their possession.

The arrested accused have been identified as Vikyath alias Vikky Bappal (28) and his wife Anjana (21), residents of Shankara Nagara.

CCB officials have seized items worth Rs 92,000 from the accused including 2.200 kg ganja worth Rs 22,000, Rs 1,500 cash, one mobile phone and a digital weighing machine.

It is said the several cases including kidnap, murder attempt and assault are filed against Vikyath and Anjana in various police stations.

The couple allegedly distributed drugs in several areas of the city including KPT, MG Road, Kadri and Jeppu.
