Vijayanagar: Man beheads lover; carries head to police station

Vijayanagar (Hosapete): In a bizarre incident, a man walked into the police station holding a severed head claiming he had killed his lover on Thursday, July 21.

The incident occurred in Kaanahosahalli, Kannaborayyanahatti village.

The deceased has been identified as Nirmala (23). She was killed by her lover Bhojaraj.

It is said that Nirmala and Bhojaraj were in a relationship for quite some time. However, three months ago, Bhojaraj got married to another woman.

Nirmala who was a final year BSC nursing student had come home three days ago to rest. In a fit of rage, Bhojaraj entered Nirmala’s house with a machete and hacked at her neck.

He then went to the nearby police station holding her severed head and confessed to the crime.
