Bengaluru: An incident of a woman Congress party worker lambasting actress and Congress leader Bhavana Ramanna was observed on Tuesday.
The Karnataka Congress had staged “Mauna Satyagraha” (silent protest) in the city condemning the interrogation of Sonia Gandhi pertaining to the National Herald case. At this point in time actress Bhavana had reached the venue. When she was about to make her way onto the stage a woman Congress party worker restricted her entry.
The woman, in the presence of the top leadership of the party, was heard yelling, “Don’t go on to the stage. You had left Congress and joined BJP. Why have you come back again?”
The Congress leaders tried to calm the woman. Later, Bhavana sat along with the party workers, instead of on the stage.
Meanwhile, addressing the media, the actress said, “Yes, I agree that I had left Congress and joined BJP. It was a hurried decision. Later, after joining the BJP I realized my mistake and made my way back to Congress. I will work towards getting the party back to power in the state”.
