Youth’s murder: Holiday declared for schools, colleges in Surathkal, Mulki, Bajpe and Panambur

Mangaluru: In the wake of the gruesome murder of a youth in Surathkal, a holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in Surathkal, Mulki, Bajpe, and Panambur limits on Friday, July 29.

The Deputy Commissioner issued orders to this effect late at night. The educational institutes have been asked remain closed as a precautionary measure for the safety and security of the students.

Fazil who was attacked by assailants here on July 28 succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

Speaking on the issue police commissioner Shashi Kumar requested the people not to spread rumors on social media platforms.

Prohibitory order has been enforced under Section 144 under the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate due to tense situation. As many as 19 Checkpost has been opened, Kumar said.

Anyone found driving without a valid reason after 10 pm, will face an inquiry, and their vehicles will be impounded, the commissioner said.
