Chikkodi: Villagers successfully caught a six-foot-long crocodile and have handed it over to the officials of the forest department.

The crocodile was seen in the waters of Dudhganga River at Kardaga village of Nippani taluk for the past few days. Owing to this, fishermen and villagers were fearsome of entering the waters.

On Thursday, fisherman Bandu Gawade was fishing and he thought that he had caught a big fish. Eventually, it turned out to be a huge crocodile. Later, with help of youths from the village, the crocodile was caught and handed over to the forest officials.

Meanwhile, the villagers have lauded the efforts and daredevil nature of the youths.
