End of an era: T Mohandas Pai cremated at Udupi

Manipal: The mortal remains of T Mohandas Pai, who had died on Sunday, were consigned to flames at the crematorium at Beddinagudde here on Monday, August 1.
The last rites were conducted by his brothers T Narayan Pai and T Ashok Pai.

Satish Pai, ‘Taranga’ Managing Editor Dr. Sandhya Pai, Executive Director Gautham Pai, Vanita Pai, Dr Indumathi Pai, Dr. Asha Pai, Dr. Ranjan Pai, MAHE Pro Chancellor Dr. H. S. Ballal, MAHE Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M. D. Venkatesh, MD and CEO of Manipal Media Network Ltd. Mr. Vinod Kumar were present.
Ministers V. Sunil Kumar, S. Angara, Former Ministers Vinaya Kumar Sorake, Abhay Chandra Jeen, BJP District President Kuiladi Suresh Naik, Congress District President Ashok Kumar Kodavuru, Dr. Mohan Alva, District Collector Kurma Rao, MGM College Principal Dr. Devidas Naik along with heads of various institutions of Manipal paid their last respects to the departed soul.
Mohandas Pai had the vision for the newspaper he helped start. He molded “Udayavani” as per this grand vision. With his constant attention, Udayavani grew into a newspaper that not only complemented the knowledge and language development of its readers but also created a sense of harmony between newspaper communities and attracted attention to the region’s development.
An alumnus of MGM College, T Mohandas Pai pursued studies in Law after intermediate and then grew into an entrepreneur in Manipal, with the same insights into the intricacies of finance and administration in abundance as his father.
