Praveen Nettaru
Puttur: The killers of Dakshina Kannada district BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Nettaru are still at large even after 10 days of the sensational murder. So far, 4 persons have been arrested for aiding the assailants in the crime.
However, the perpetrators, suspected to be of Kerala-origin, have not been found yet. Despite the investigation picking pace, progress has not matched expectations.
It is suspected that the assailants are hired hands, and had made enough preparation to erase their trail after the crime. The absence of CCTVs at the scene of the crime and the route taken by the killers is also proving a challenge for the investigators.
Meanwhile, ADGP Alok Kumar visited Bellare police station on Thursday and reviewed the progress of the investigation.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Alok Kumar said that the police have been instructed to take necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in the future. Although the case has been handed over to NIA, we as Karnataka Police will extend all possible cooperation to them. NIA is in constant touch with the Karnataka police, he added.
Uppala resident arrested:
Kumble: A resident of Uppala Mangalpadi Sonkalu, who allegedly arranged accommodation for the murder accused in the Praveen murder case, has been taken into custody by the Karnataka police.
