Karkala: Absconding accused in theft case arrested

Karkala: An accused in a theft case was arrested by the Karkala city police in Sagar taluk of Shimoga district on August 9.

The accused, Noor (47), was arrested from Kargal in Shivamogga, police said.

He, along with others, is wanted in the theft at Dhwani Hardware in Karkala in June 2022. About 1.45 lakh cash was stolen from the shop on Karkala Bypass road.

After the crime, all accused went into hiding. But based on a tip-off Karkala city police arrested him in Sagar and confiscated the car used in the crime.

The other accused in the case, Ibrahim Kargal and Muhammad Iqbal Hassan, are still absconding.
