Uppunda: The body of the girl, Sannidhi (7), who fell into a stream from a footbridge at Bijamakki on Monday (August 8) has been recovered on Wednesday (August 10).
The body was found about 500 meters away from the footbridge after a 48-hour-long search operation. The team of 22 persons including firefighters, locals, and swimmer/fisherman Naresh Koderi, were engaged in action.
It can be recalled that on August 8 Sannidhi had slipped from the footbridge and fallen into the stream while returning from school. Due to the force of the water, she was dragged to a distance.
Later, Byndoor Constituency legislator Sukumar Shetty, Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao, Tahsildar Kiran Gorraiah, and other officials visited the spot to inspect rescue operations.
