Mangaluru: Wanted man arrested for attacking cop

Mangaluru: A man who had several criminal offenses pending against him, was arrested on Friday, August 12 for attacking a cop in a bid to evade arrest.

Police identified the accused as Mohammed Faizal alias Cabaret Faizal (33), a resident of Thodar village of Moodabidri.

Faisal again tried to run from the law by attacking the police personnel with a dagger. He was chased and nabbed from a forested area, police claimed and added that he has now been booked  under IPC Section 353.

Faizal has several pending criminal cases against him at various police stations including Bajpe, Mangaluru Rural, Ajekaru, Moodabidri, and Venur. In a few of these cases, courts have issued warrants for his arrest, police said.
