Flag to be hoisted at Idgah Maidan for the first time: Araga Jnanendra

Bengaluru: A flag hoisting ceremony will be held at Idgah Maidan in Chamarajpet at 8.00 am on August 15 on the occasion of the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ of India’s independence, said Karnataka Home minister Araga Jnanendra on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters after reviewing the security arrangements and precautionary measures at the Idgah Maidan on Sunday, Jnananedra said all necessary security arrangements have been made by the police department for the function. “The public here is peace-loving. So I hope there will be no disruption,” he said adding that precautionary measures have been taken as it is the first time that the flag was hoisted.
The flag hoisting ceremony will be attended by local MPs, MLAs, Janapatrinidhi, and local citizens.
Further, the minister added that everyone can participate in the independence day celebrations and flag hoisting ceremonies that will be attended by local MPs, MLAs, and local representatives.
State Director General of Police and Inspector General of Police Praveen Sood, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
