Kolar: At least 2 dead, 15 injured as bus overturns near Mulabagilu

Kolar: At least 2 were killed and 15 others were injured after an inter-state private bus overturned near Mulabagilu here on Wednesday, August 17, morning.

The mishap took place on National Highway 75 near the Virupakshi Gate in Mulabagilu Taluk.

The deceased have been identified as a husband and wife duo — Sharif and Mymunnisa –of Vijayawada district of Andhra Pradesh. The health condition of another passenger is said to be critical.

The bus was on its way to Bengaluru from Vijayawada. Passengers alleged rash driving and negligence led to the accident. Soon after the incident, the bus driver and the conductor fled from the spot.

There were around 30 passengers were on the bus at the time of the accident, of which 15 are said to be injured. The injured have been rushed to the government hospital for medical treatment.

Mulabagilu Rural police have registered a case and have taken up an investigation.
