Raichur: 55 students fall sick after eating midday meal; principal suspended

Raichur: 55 students of a school in Amingad village of Maski fell sick after eating the midday meal on Wednesday, August 17.

It is said that the students were served half-cooked Upma for lunch following which several children started vomiting and complained of stomach pain.

The school authorities rushed them to the primary health care center where they are currently being treated.

The Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) of Raichur has suspended the school principal and sacked four cooking assistants.

Further investigations are underway.
