Bengaluru: In a bizarre turn of events, a man killed himself fearing that he would be caught for getting his lover’s husband killed. However, the husband, fortunately, survived after the hired killers got cold feet.
This curious crime case is being reported from Peenya Police station here.
According to the police, Himavant got acquainted with Pallavi and love blossomed between the two. However, Pallavi was married to Naveen and had two kids from the marriage.
Himavant and Pallavi hatched a plan to kill Naveen so as to live together. They hired three persons — Harish, Mugilan, and Ammajamma, all residents of Doddabirahalli– for carrying out the murder.
As per the plan, the hired killers took Naveen, who also drove cars for hire, on a trip to Tamil Nadu and kidnapped him there. However, the hired men hesitated to carry out the task. They got Naveen drunk, poured sauce all over him, and took pictures as proof of having killed Naveen and sent them to Himvant on WhatsApp.
Naveen’s brother in Bengaluru lodged a missing complaint with the police after his mobile phone was switched off for three days. Himavant, who got to know about the complaint, killed himself as he dreaded being caught.
On hearing the news of Himavant’s suicide, Naveen was released by his abductors. The whole matter came to light during the investigation after Naveen narrated the abduction story.
Based on the evidence, Pallavi, Harish, Mugilan, and Ammajamma have been arrested.
Suicide is preventable. If you get any such thoughts, consult or seek expert help.
