Udupi: Leopard trapped in cage at Bola Kodi; Locals fear more big cats roaming in the area

Belman: A leopard was trapped in the cage set up by the forest department at the Kodi area here. But, local are still worried that there might be two more wild leopards prowling in the area.

Locals had alerted the forest department about the spotting of a leopard in Kodi. Based on the clues gathered, forest department had set up a cage to trap the wild cat.

The leopard was caught in the cage set up near the residence of Gunavati of Bola Kodi on Friday night, locals said.

Meanwhile, Forest officials have released the captured leopard at the Kudremukh Wildlife Sanctuary.

However, locals said they have seen two more leopards still roaming in the nearby areas.
