Belthangady: School headmaster Veerendra Patil dies of heart attack

Belthangady: The headmaster of Piligudu Government Higher Primary School in Kaniyoor village, Veerendra Patil (52), died of a heart attack at his rented house in Punjalakatte on August 23.
Patil, a native of Gutthikatte Lambani Hatti in Hosadurga Taluk in the Chitradurga district, lived in a rented accommodation on Pilatabettu Berkala Road in Punjalakatte with his wife and children.
The matter came to light on Tuesday, when Patil’s wife and children returned home after a vacation.
Veerendra Patil had earlier served at Badaga Kajekaru School in Bantwal taluk and the Neriya School. He was promoted to the post of head teacher three months ago.
Block Education Officer H.S. Veerupakshappa, MLA Harish Poonja, school management, teachers, and the education department have condoled Patil’s untimely death.
