Mangaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai expressed his confidence that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Mangaluru will give impetus to coastal development.
Talking to reporters at Mangalore Airport today, Bommai said that the Prime Minister is visiting the coastal region of Karnataka after a long time. He will inaugurate several development projects and lay the foundation for many others — altogether worth Rs.3800 crores, the CM said.
These projects complement development, increase economic activity, and generate employment in the coastal areas, he added.
Further, the CM said that the Prime Minister has sanctioned 100 deep sea fishing boats to Karnataka under the Matsya Sampada Yojana. The benefits of the Kisan Credit Card scheme have been extended to fishermen.
