Belthangady: Mysterious death of a woman in Agartha of Kokkada Village here took a interesting turn, after Dharmasthala Police arrested the husband of a woman for murder.
Police said they have arrested Ganesh (48) for killing his wife Mohini (36).
Mohini was found dead at home on August 30 with blood oozing from her forehead. Though Ganesh was questioned about the circumstances of her death, he did not confess to have killed her.
However, the autopsy report indicated Mohini’s death was neither accidental nor death from natural causes, but a murder. Based on the report, Ganesh has been arrested, police said.
Ganesh, a native of Shanivarasanthe, worked as a rubber tapper and was an alcoholic. He had married Mohini, a resident of Kollamogru of Sullia, about 8 years ago. They lived in Agarta of Kokkada with their 6-year-old son. It is said that the couple fought on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, their son has been orphaned and is being cared for at the Child Care Center. Both Mohini and Ganesh had cut ties with their respective families after marriage, and the families refused to accept the boy.
