Mandya: In a shocking incident reported from Mandya, a woman was asked to bury the amputated leg of her husband.

The incident is said to have taken place at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) where the victim Prakash, a resident of Keelara village, who was suffering from gangrene was admitted for treatment.

On Tuesday, the doctors amputated his leg with prior permission from his family. Later, they handed over the amputated leg to his wife Bhagyamma and asked her to bury it.

A frightened Bhagyamma broke down in tears and approached the hospital staff seeking help with the burial, but they reportedly asked for a bribe.

Meanwhile, the local leaders on receiving the information, lambasted the doctors blaming them for their sheer negligence and irresponsibility.
