Scattered rainfall in coastal districts; ‘Orange Alert’ issued for next 2 days

Mangaluru / Udupi: Heavy rains lashed parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts on Thursday, September 8.

The rains started late on Wednesday night in the districts, including Mangaluru, and continued on Thursday. There was partially sunny and cloudy weather in some places.

Meanwhile, the monsoon is expected to intensify in the coming days in the coastal areas. An orange alert has been sounded from May 8 and 9. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for September 10 to 12. Heavy rain, strong winds, and rough seas are expected, IMD warned.
