Udupi: A social worker in Udupi rolled on a pothole to highlight the pathetic condition of the roads on Tuesday, September 13.

Member of Udupi Civic committee Nityananda Olakadu wore a saffron dress and rolled on the potholes near Indrali Railway bridge.

Speaking to the reporters, he said, “Due to the negligence of the Highway authorities and the district administration, the road near Indrali railway bridge in still in pathetic condition. I had no option but to protest in a unique way to draw the government’s attention.”

“These pothole-ridden roads make life miserable for motorists. Why do the elected representatives fail to understand this? I demand the highway authority to take necessary action and repair the damaged roads as soon as possible,” he added.
