Onduty Mescom staffers injured after car rams into electric pole

Shirva: Four contractual employees of Mescom were injured after a car rammed into an electric pole that they were carrying near Vidya Layout on Katapadi-Shirva-Belman main road here.

On Tuesday morning, the Mescom staff had been assigned to install a power transformer near Vidya Layout and had even deputed their personnel on Nyarma Bridge to stop any traffic when the work was in progress.

However, a car driver did not heed their request and proceeded further. The workers were carrying the pole after unloading it when the car rammed into it injuring the Mescom staff. The pole fell on the car.

The injured were admitted to Shirva Community Health Center for treatment.
