Mangaluru: Eight held, vehicles seized for illegal sand transportation

Acting on the complaint filed by Kotekar Panchayat chief officer, Ullal police arrested eight persons for illegal sand transportation.

Riyaz (29), Raghunatha (40), Rajesh (50), Atul (22), Ramdhari (28), Pankaj (24), all residents of Talapady and Muttalib alias Muttali (40), Aboobacker (53) both residents of K C Road are the arrested persons. Their act was caught on the CCTV camera installed near Vijaya Bank of Talapady.

Police also confiscated two pick-up vehicles, bearing registration numbers KL 08 F 8490 and KA 19 AB 1623 from their possession.
