Man from Mangaluru killed in road accident in Kuwait

Mangaluru: A man from Bajal in the city was killed in a road accident in Kuwait.
The deceased has been identified as Asif Pakkaladka (33). He was the son of Safia of Bajal Pakkaladka.
Asif was employed as a salesman in a company in Kuwait. He reportedly died after being hit by a car while returning home on his bike after work on Friday evening. The deceased is survived by his wife and mother.
Gold worth Rs 44 lakh confiscated at Kannur Airport
Kasaragod: Customs officials at Kannur Airport confiscated gold weighing 864 grams worth Rs 44 Lakhs from a passenger who arrived from Dubai. Moidin Faris of Mogralputtur was arrested for trying to smuggle the gold into the country, officials said.
