Belagavi: Four, including wife & daughter of ASI killed in Cement lorry-car collision

Belagavi: Four people, including the wife and daughter of a police ASI, died in a road mishap on the Belagavi-Bagalakot state highway near Budigoppa Cross in Savadatti taluk on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Rukmini Halaki (48), Akshata Halaki (24), Nikhil Kadama (24), and Hanumavva Chikkalakatti (65), all residents of Belagavi.

The accident took place when a cement-laden lorry headed towards Goa collided head-on with a car and further went to hit a two-wheeler.

The car driver, ASI Parusharam Halaki’s wife Rukmini, daughter Akshata and an elderly woman Hanumavva who was on the two-wheeler were killed in the mishap

Others who sustained injuries have been admitted to a local hospital.

Police visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
