Puttur: In a shocking incident, a woman was ‘hypnotized’ into giving her mangalasutra to an unknown miscreant at Uppinangady.

It is said that the victim, wife of a temple priest was approached by a man who claimed that he was opening a new gold shop. He gave her Rs 300 and asked her to put the money in the temple donation box.

He further asked her to remove her mangalasutra, keep it along with the Rs 100 note and give it to him as it is considered ‘auspicious’.

The woman gave her mangalasutra to him and he fled from the spot.

Later, the woman realized that she was robbed and filed a police complaint.
