Bantwal: ‘Ghost Rider’ sets out on fundraising campaign for noble initiative

Bantwal: To help the needy, especially children suffering from ailments and the marriage of girls coming from economically weaker sections, a youth has set out as a ‘ghost rider’ for a fundraiser.
Devadas Naik, a resident of Neerolbe of Sarapadi village is the youth who has begun a unique way of fundraising.
Devadas had done this noble initiative twice with different attire. But due to the Covid 19 pandemic, he was not able to carry on the initiative for two years.
This time, during the auspicious Navaratri festivity, he has decided to collect Rs. 20,000s in seven days (September 29-October 5).
It is learned that he is on a mission to help two children from the same family suffering from kidney-related ailments and arrangement for the marriage of a girl from an economically backward family.
Devadas who has worn a scary ghost costume said, “I’ve been rigorously roaming round the town to raise funds and have received exceptional response from the locals. People have even helped me to collect funds by sharing my initiative on social media and making it viral”.
